The 2012 English Apple Festival

Autumn’s here and it’s time for the harvest. Join us on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th October for the 4th annual Portobello and Golborne Market English Apple Festival.

You’ll be able to taste and buy new season’s Bramley, Cox and Egremont Russet apples, plus some rarer varieties from the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale.

  • Saturday 20th – chef Oliver Rowe with Clippy McKenna
  •
    The Fulham WI who cooked up a storm for our Jubilee tea party are back by popular demand on Saturday 20th with apple-themed baking and cups of tea in Tavistock Square.

    Plus there’ll be these festival special apple treats to try through the weekend;

  • Apple cocktails at The Ground Floor bar
  • Apple pie by the slice from Hummingbird Bakery
  • Bramley granita and gelato at Zaza Gelato
  • Toffee apple marshmallows from The Marshmallowists stall outside 171 Portobello Road on Saturday
  • Apple cupcakes from Minklez under the Westway on Saturday
  • Toffee apple popcorn from The Pop Guys in Blenheim Crescent
  • Cider tasting at Acklam Village Market Saturday and Sunday
  •
    The London Orchard Project would like you to suggest a name for a new London apple variety they’ve developed, and on Sunday 21st October they’ll be pressing apples at Acklam Village Market by the Westway. You’re welcome to bring your own apples.

    Come on down, it’ll be appletastic!
