150th anniversary events – Saturday 30th May

It’s the market’s official 150th anniversary celebration on Saturday 30th May (the 150th day of our 150th year).

Market stalls and shops will be festooned with 2km of bespoke 150-year bunting and dozens of market stallholders will be offering exclusive one-day-only promotions, from discounts, multi-buy offers and gifts-with-purchase to limited-edition signed artwork and a raffle with 2 prizes of £50 worth of antique toy soldiers.
Look out for stalls displaying ‘Exclusive 150 year celebration offer’ signs and ask traders for details.

There will be other mini-events including:

  • A costumed performance of Victorian songs by Radio Days Music at the junction of Portobello Road and Lonsdale Road from 12 noon.
  • A day-long display of antique and vintage bicycles from the Veteran Cycle Club in Tavistock Square W11.
Free ‘Dr Bike’ bicycle tune-ups sponsored by BikeMinded in Tavistock Square W11.
  • A free ticketed ‘instameet’ organised by @igerslondon (already sold out but hopeful participants can join the waiting list at www.meetup.com/InstagramersLondon)
  • A 2pm cake-cutting ceremony in Tavistock Square W11 with a spectacular birthday cake donated by Hummingbird Bakery.
  • Please come and help us celebrate. We look forward to seeing you there!
