There’s lots going on for the last few months of our 150th anniversary year. Here are the details:
150 Year celebrations in September:
Throughout September Market area shopping promotion. Shoppers will receive ‘passports’ in which to collect stickers when they spend money at participating businesses. Businesses wishing to be promoted as part of the event must contribute a product or service of any value toward a prize draw. Forms with complete details are available at the Street Trading Office or www.rbkc.gov.uk/ourmarkets and must be returned to the office or emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by Friday 21 August 2015;
4 & 11 September Fabulous Fashion market walking tours.
12 September Sections of Blenheim Crescent & Talbot Road adjacent to the market will be closed to vehicle traffic for a local community fashion event. Enquire at local shops for details;
16 September Screenings of films made in and about the market at the Portobello Film Festival: a documentary by Fox Primary students working with the Hammersmith & Fulham Urban Studies Centre and The Food Explorers, and a music video by Jimmi Nolan set in Golborne and Portobello Road on a market day. 18 September Urban Food Fortnight market walking tour.
18 & 19 September (London Fashion Week) Flash Fashion street style selfie booth with Style by Portobello—email email@example.com if you would like to lend accessories or props for this event;
20 September ‘Heart of Portobello’ art wall tour with artist Peter Dunn—leaves from Acklam Village Market at 12pm (the current installation comes down at the end of September in preparation for the next commission by Fiona Hawthorne, so this is your last chance for first-time or regular visitors to see this fascinating work);
25 September Macmillan coffee morning fundraiser organised by Gary & Ramon at the Brocantique stall between Oxford Gardens & Golborne Road.
26 September Market cycling tour organised by Bikeminded, ending in Portobello and Golborne Market and featuring free sample tasters at select fresh & prepared food stalls. See www.bikeminded.org/whats-on for details;

16 October Apple juicing demo with the London Orchard Project (come taste Core Blimey apples!) and English apple cooking demo with surprise guest chef;
17 October Market cycling tour organised by Bikeminded, and tastings of English apples from the National Fruit Collection at Brogdale Orchards in Kent;
14 November Awesome Antiques market walking tour;
